Hi Everyone,

My name is Michele DeFilippo and I own 1106 Design. We're delighted to be members of Nurture Your Books and look forward to helping others here.

1106 Design helps business owners, legal and medical professionals, coaches, consultants, speakers and anyone else who wants to produce a top-quality book.

For business owners: A book can position you and your company as a trusted resource and create an all-important positive first impression before you even meet your prospective clients. A business book must be prepared to a very high standard, because it is viewed by an audience with higher expectations than the general public. Prepared correctly, it can bring in new and better customers, speaking engagements, and consulting opportunities.

A top-quality book is necessary for other publishers as well, whether you plan to sell privately or in a retail environment. Buyers have an expectation of what a "good" book looks like, and consciously or not, your book will be compared to those released by major publishers.

1106 Design offers the convenience of one-stop-shopping. Our project management service saves you the effort and stress of managing the many experts needed to prepare a quality book for press. Our award-winning book cover and interior design, manuscript editing, indexing, and publishing advice—with our signature hand-holding—makes the self-publishing experience effortless and enjoyable.

Our main soapbox (other than quality book design): Many authors are misled by "POD publishers." These companies have hijacked true SELF-publishing, and following their "do-it-yourself" instructions will result in a poor-quality book guaranteed to be shunned by book reviewers. The high unit price they charge for books makes profit in a retail environment impossible. POD (print-on-demand) is a printing method available to anyone. We can help you explore the alternatives and determine the best printing and distribution methods for your particular situation.

Please visit http://1106design.com for further information and feel free to ask me any question. I'm happy to help.
Hello!

I'll be sure to check out your site. Also, welcome!
Welcome, Michele.
Hi!
I have just joined and am trying to figure out this site and what it's about. I am a Swedish author and was previously published in Ireland (six books). I have now gone indie and e-published my backlist plus some new ones. It has gone really well so far and I'm at the moment considering publishing my historical novel in POD and looking for the best/cheapest option

I am also looking for some help with marketing my e-books to increase sales. Doing it yourself is hard work!
Hi all

Thanks Bobbie for the direction here :)

I've had several poems published, so I decided to do something a bit longer, so last week I launched my first book Feathers. Feathers is a compilation of light feel good stories, with a strong emphasis of making the most of life despite adversity.

I am currently working on another collection of short stories, this time light-heartedly paranormal, with a ghostly emphasis. I am also working on two Novels - maybe three. My brain has a habit of whipping off on a tangent, hence more than one project on the go at anyone time.
Hello all,

My name is Greg James and I will be self-publishing under the pseudonym G.R. Yeates in the next few months. My first book is called The Eyes of the Dead and opens a nine-volume series of vampire novels I have dubbed The Vetala Saga. I have joined to network with other writers and to improve my knowledge of marketing options.

I hope all is going well with everyone's projects.

Cheers,

Greg

Hi everyone! I'm Lisa from BaffledBooks. I'm a 20 something philosophy major in Barbados and I read as much as possible in between classes and life! I run BaffledBooks where myself and my boyfriend K (who is also a voracious reader) review all sorts of books from across the genres. Between the two of us, we really do read most things so our blog has ended up being a bit random and odd, just the way we like it!

This looks like a great place to investigate and I can't wait to meet and talk to you all! :)
Hello - I've just found this great group and joined right away.I've written several books in my professional field which were published by traditional publishers but I've now ventured into fiction and am going the ebook route. My writing blog is Brenda's books and blog at http://www.brendamccreight.blogspot.com target="_self">and I'm always looking for authors to interview or do guest posts. Please email me brendamccreight@gmail.com if you are interested. Have your best day possible.
Hi all,

Nice to meet all of you.

I'm Marcel Marshall from the Caribbean, island of Antigua and Barbuda. My first novel is All That Glitters Is Not Gold [ISBN: 978-0-8059-7357-0] www.dorrancebookstore.com/allthglisnot.html.
I'm presently working on four major projects and, some smaller ones.
My name is Gigi (Gisela) Sedlmayer and i am the author of the great children's and adult novel TALON,COME FLY WITH ME. selfpublished. I wrote it for children but as i have found out, my book appeals to every one.
I am German borne, married an Australian and lived for 18 years in New Zealand. Here we adopted Indian twin gilrs from Fiji. Then we moved to Australia, Gold Coast.
And here i started to write, after i surwived a deadly desise.
I just love writing but i love it too, to see my writing in a book form and that people read them and love my stories.
