Introduction to BestsellerBound by Maria Savva
I'm one of the resident authors at BestsellerBound.com, a forum where independent authors and readers who want to find good books to read can chat about writing, reading, publishing, and everything else in between. Since its inception in the late summer of 2010, the community has grown and we now have almost 500 members. Most of our members are independent writers. We also have a growing number of readers who are finding that there are very talented authors who frequent our board.
BestsellerBound was created by author Darcia Helle, a prolific, popular, and talented author of mystery/suspense books. She had a vision to bridge the gap between indie writers and their potential readers. By having a forum where readers can stop by and chat to independent writers, the idea was that there would be a way to introduce readers to new and exciting literature that may not be easy to find in an Amazon search. There is a tendency for readers to search for bestselling books, or books that are popular at the time when looking for a new book to read, this means that lots of great books get overlooked. As independent authors we do not have the income available to spend on advertising like the major publishers, but that does not mean that we do not have a passion for our art and we want people to know about it.
Darcia contacted fellow author, Stacy Juba, an award winning mystery writer, also independently published. Stacy thought up the name BestsellerBound, and helped to develop the idea behind the board. Stacy had a vision of the forum being like a reality show for indie authors where readers could join and follow their favourite authors' latest publishing adventures. Our authors are always willing to answer questions from fellow writers and readers. Darcia and I are available every day on the board. It is a fun place to hang out, so we have many regular contributors, including, Joel Blaine Kirkpatrick (author of the spellbinding 'Breathing into Stone', and the haunting 'Caraliza'), and Susan Helene Gottfried (rock chick and author of rock n' roll fiction, including 'Trevor's Song' and 'The Demo Tapes'). Many of our active members have contributed short stories to the BestsellerBound Short Story Anthologies.
When Darcia and Stacy contacted me in 2010 and asked if I would like to be a resident author on their new forum, I could sense that this would be something special, but I had no way of knowing what a wonderful adventure it would be. I have met and connected with so many talented authors just by being a part of the forum, and their books have enriched my reading experience. I had never heard of Joel Blaine Kirkpatrick, Jason McIntyre, James Everington, Susan Helene Gottfried, Neil Schiller, to name but a few... and if I wasn't a part of BestsellerBound I probably would not have been able to get to know them and many other great writers. I now enjoy reading books by our members and being part of the very friendly and supportive community. I would encourage independent authors who may be feeling a bit lost in the sometimes negative publishing world to come and find us... we are always pleased to meet new members. Virtual drinks and cookies are often handed out :) I would also encourage readers who would like to maybe try reading books other than those on the bestseller lists to come along and look through our Indie Bookshelves; you never know, you might find a new favourite author! If you'd like to sample some of our members' writing, there are the BestsellerBound Short Story Anthologies, available free on Amazon for Kindle, and also Smashwords.com in various ebook formats. There are also three volumes of the First Annual BestsellerBound Sample anthology freely available on the internet.

The Dream by Maria Savva
Lynne cannot shake her feelings of dread; her dreams tell her she is making a terrible mistake, she must not marry Adam. But, how can she believe the dream? Lynne and Adam have shared their lives for three years now. She is certain she loves him. It is not that love, which her dream warns against. It doesn't matter that she loves this man she will soon marry. If she marries him, the voice in her dream says her soul mate will die. Her true love will perish. Soon, Lynne's world is transformed and becomes almost unrecognizable, except for the déjà vu. Time doesn't seem to mean much anymore, and things are not quite as they seem. As her world spins out of control, Lynne must sort out what's real and what isn't to fulfill her destiny.

Hi Maria,
Thank you for sharing. I just stopped by BestsellerBound and I'm glad that you have children's books there. I'm finding it a bit difficult to connect with authors and readers of children's books. I'll have to join the forum!
Your book sounds intriguing. I look forward to reading it! All the best!
Hi Martha! Yes, we have many children's authors on BestsellerBound. Look forward to seeing you there :)
Hope you enjoy my book!
What a fantastic tribute to our BestsellerBound group! Thank you for that, Maria! The only bad thing I can say about our group is that I don't have enough time to read everyone's books. We do have some incredibly talented authors.
I loved The Dream and highly recommend it - as well as all your other books!
That's so true, Darcia! I am working my way through books by BestsellerBound authors and they're all so good!
Thanks for the compliment about my writing :)

Recommended to all.
And I will say that in addition to being a writer of note, Maria is one of the kindest people I've ever met and I'm really glad we crossed paths through Goodreads.
Thanks for your lovely comments, Julie :)
I'm so glad you enjoyed The Dream, it means a lot coming from a writer I admire!
