I thought it would be nice to have a discussion thread where everyone can post their blog and social network pages. It will provide a central location for those who want to network outside of Ning, and help keep the comment wall clean :)

i still can't get over the attacks on your daughter (or anyone) what has that got to do with anything? that's outrageous.

as far as reviewrs attacking your daughter, Shawn that's a disgrace. Look this is my first book, i'm sure i'll run into the nut brigade. they're out there alright.
Carping, nasty, disatisfied people who feed off negtivity. Talk about your vampires! they're the worst kind!
i admire you for having grace under fire.
and i agree with you. they can use the internet to spread their bad karma (which they will get back)
have either of you heard that Amazon is going to do away with reviews? i heard it a month or so ago.

Shawn very good review. I certainly would want to read it.
Sounds excellent. I thought your books sounded historical. that's really interesting.
Yes very good I'm sure you are very pleased!

Personal attacks of any kind are unacceptable. I get steam on occasion at reviews that poke at me, but within the context of writing style is different, while my daughter is off limits!

I asked my publicist how she knew about Briana, and discovered she got one of the promo sheets highlighting I wrote the book (1) at Briana's request.

No, I wouldn't be surprised. Sometimes it feels like the internet helps to spread meanness on purpose.

That sort of behavior is totally unacceptable. I've dealt with it in my personal life having an autistic child. You'd be surprised how many people still believe the refrigerator mom myth. It did give me a thick skin towards criticism.

Oh, they will come, that is a certainty. I've deal with a couple of vicious ones that personally attack my daughter and I. Fortunately, I had a publicist at the time and she dealt with the worse offender. This woman used her scathing review to promote her own manuscript editing site!! She was strongly urged to take it down. How credible and honest was that review?

About 90% of my reviewers are good to great. A few lukewarm and only a handful bad or scathing.

They'd have to be able to identify which review came from the editor first. I have yet to have a bad review, but I'm strangely looking forward to it. LOL

Thanks.

Actually, in some circles, your editor writing a review would be considered a no-no. You might want to keep that a little secret. :)
