Comment by Patricia Gligor on July 25, 2012 at 10:51am She couldn’t breathe. He was twisting the cord around her neck, choking her, and he was pulling it tighter and tighter. She tried to swallow and her mouth filled with a bitter, metallic liquid: blood, her blood. She gasped for air and clawed at the cord that was strangling her. She tried to kick him but she couldn’t move her legs. Her head throbbed with an almost unbearable pain and she felt light-headed.
She fought as hard as she could to stay conscious but she knew that her strength was almost gone. She squeezed her eyes shut and saw white lines that looked like flashes of lightning zigzagging back and forth, on and off. She gritted her teeth in pain. Death was closing in on her; she knew it. Was this it? Was this how her life was going to end? Please God, no, she silently prayed. Please God, help me!

Comment by Mark Bouton on July 19, 2012 at 3:19pm Here's the cover of my latest suspense novel. In it, the FBI races to find a kidnapped baby before she meets an unthinkable fate. It's my fifth novel and is available on Amazon.com and BN.com. I also have a non-fiction book in print titled How to Spot Lies Like the FBI. It relates how to read faces, body language, and verbal clues that show someone is lying.
Comment by Patricia Gligor on May 24, 2012 at 9:30am A serial killer is on the loose in Westwood.
Is it someone close to Ann?
With all the "mixed messages" she's been getting, she can't be sure it's not.

Comment by Patricia Gligor on February 11, 2012 at 10:55am Mixed Messages, the first novel in my Malone Mystery Series, will be published in April by Post Mortem Press and available at the publisher's website and Amazon on April 17th.
It’s estimated that there are at least twenty to thirty active serial killers in the United States at any given time. There’s one on the loose on the west side of Cincinnati.
It’s the week of Halloween and Ann Kern struggles with several issues. Her primary concern is her marriage which, like her west side neighborhood, is in jeopardy. Her husband is drinking heavily and his behavior toward her is erratic. One minute, he’s the kind, loving man she married and, the next minute, he’s cold and cruel.
Ann dismisses a psychic’s warning that she is in danger. But, when she receives a series of ominous biblical quotes, she grows nervous and suspicious of everyone, including her own husband.
As the bizarre and frightening events unfold, Ann discovers a handmade tombstone marked with her name, pushing her close to the edge. Will she be the Westwood Strangler’s next victim?
Goodreads Summary
Looking for a strong, brassy heroine? Sidney, one of the main characters, will appeal to the reader. She manages to stay strong and tough even through some of the most difficult times of her life. The reader will form an easy and instant connection to her.
Sam is more of a tough cookie. However, he is compassionate when it counts. The reader may take slightly longer to warm up to him, but he is not hard to like either.
The setting is a Navy ship far away from land, brings a bit of a magical quality to the book. There is an undercurrent of change that fits nicely into the setting of the book as well. The characters, especially the main characters, are very dynamic. They do not remain the same throughout the book, they have realizations/epiphanies, form relationships, and develop new understandings. The reader will be fascinated to watch the author deftly pull the sub-plots together.
Sam is normally a very disciplined man. When Sidney, as a prisoner, is placed on the boat, Sam's perception changes. Already suspected of treason, Sam is now in dangerous waters. The quiet, romantic scenes between Sidney and Sam are believable and just plain cute to read. The reader will be rooting for their relationship. Sam attempts to distance himself from his prisoner while Sidney fights feelings for her warden/jailer.
This book was very fast-paced and fun to read. Readers should enjoy that the author provides an epilogue, there is resolution. The characters, especially Sam and Sidney, will remain memorable even after the reader closes the book. This book is recommended to young adults/adults.
Comment by Cliff Ball on January 4, 2012 at 11:14am New Frontier is my newest novel, my 5th. It's an alternate history speculative fiction novel.
In this speculative fiction novel, what-if Ronald Reagan became President in 1976 instead? He continues with the moon landings, and declares that a moon base would be established, followed by a Mars Base by 1989. The Soviets decide to up the ante by building an interstellar starship, and send it on its way as the US establishes a permanent presence on the Moon.
Terrorism rears its ugly head, which will forever change American politics, but not the Space Race. The new POTUS has to pursue these enemies of the US to secure America's future. We follow America's progress from Moon to Mars to an eventual starship mission out of the solar system, which will continue in book two.
Available in paperback currently on Amazon for $8.99, will be available on B&N soon

In e-book for $2.99 on all Amazon sites, US link, B&N Nook, Smashwords
Comment by Glen C Strathy on December 9, 2011 at 9:18am Dancing on the Inside
Sidelined by a paralyzing social
phobia, a twelve-year-old
girl uses determination and
friendship to pursue her dream
of becoming a ballet dancer in
this uplifting young adult novel.
“This story written for 'Tweens' is so good that it will transcend that age group. The story plot seems deceptively simple, but it unfurls with complexity. And Jenny is a character you can take into your heart. One that is vulnerable and shackled by her shyness, but who struggles to stay close to the thing she loves most...any way she can. Overcoming pride, guilt, and inadequacy, she moves painstakingly toward her goal. This is my first read by author Glen C. Strathy and I highly recommend his style and voice. His ability to get inside the head and heart of his young subject, Jenny, is a spark of pure talent, with just a sprinkle of magical insight. BE SURE TO PUT THIS ONE ON YOUR CHILD'S READING SHELF.” - Lynda Coker, Review from Here
