- On a warm summer morning in 1962, G. R. Holton was born in a little town in Massachusetts. I am the second eldest in a family of eight children. I am happily married and living in eastern Tennessee.
Growing up was hard due to the areas we lived in, but the whole time as a child, I would engulf myself in comic books and anything to do with science fiction. I decided though that I wanted to be a police officer and joined the military. After a training accident and a rough divorce, I had my first major breakdown which put me out of the military.
I was 27 years old when I was first diagnosed with having Bipolar Disorder after having many troubles with jobs and my second marriage. I was told that I could no longer work; so I was put on the disabled list. I thought that life was pretty much over. But in 1999, after a second divorce, I met my soulmate. She brought me to know Christ and life started looking up, though the frequent battles with bipolar breakdowns and hospitalizations made life hard. I took an interest in computers and games to pass the time, until one day I made a friend through one of those online games with chat. She was also a Christian and her husband was a movie director. We became great friends and after a few weeks of talking, I met her husband online and we hit it off quickly.
He gave me a couple screenplays of his to read and I was hooked. I knew at that point I wanted to try writing. One night I had a dream of three teens on another planet and in a cave. This was it; I knew what had to be done. I sat down at the computer and over the course of three months, I had written my first book, Journey to the Edge (Rereleased as “Soleri”). I couldn’t stop there, so I continued writing and Guardian’s Alliance was born. My next book Deep Screams is in the works.

I'm glad to have you as my friend - I don't have many friends, either, but the ones I have are good. I don't think they'd mind if you invite them to share a friendship with us both.
I think the entire website should be friends, after all we share so much, and I'm sure when Bobbie set up her wonderful site, she had the same idea - among many others! At least, I hope we're all here for each other.
And if I offend anyone by saying that, my apologies. I'm still new to Nurture, and the other 'social' sites.
I'm a very shy person, unless I'm writing! Hands up similar folk!
Anyway, time to stop rambling, I'm supposed to be working, and it's getting near dinner time.
