Review of 'Mystic Fear' by author Jan Evans Whitford

“To be wronged is nothing unless one continues to remember it” says Jan Evan Whitford, the author, through one of his characters in this ultimate non-stop adrenalin generating thriller.

Unfortunately for Nikki O’Conner, the heroine, the one she has wronged 25 years ago continues to remember it. Fortunately for us, the readers, we get to read this incredibly satisfying thriller as a result.

15-year-old Nikki, a gorgeous cheerleader, innocently accepts a high school double-dog…

Review of Tony Samara's 'From the Heart'

“The topic is consciousness—an aspect that everyone here and many

people around the world are putting a lot of effort into understanding—and

I would like to highlight some of the misunderstandings around

consciousness so that perhaps those misunderstandings, and those other

ideas that the mind likes to create to confuse us as individuals and also

as a society, and as a family and as a group of people, can be looked at

with clear intention and let go…

Review of Finding Thomas written by Christopher J. Holcroft

Thriller Finding Thomas sheds light on death

Christopher J. Holcroft’s fourth written novel Finding Thomas is a well-tied package of murder, suspense, rescue, and adventure. I strongly recommend this book for teenage boys (around ages 14-15) because of the alluring sense of crime that is woven throughout the entire plot. Girls who enjoy books with danger are also encouraged to try this read.

Right from the prologue of this book, Finding Thomas grabs your attention. It begins with a…

It takes a village

For the past few weeks, whenever I had the chance, I've been working on a book trailer for my mystery novel, Mixed Messages, and I've finally completed it.

I'd never done a trailer before and, let me tell you, creating it was both frustrating and fun. I can laugh now when I think about how many times my computer locked up, just as I was getting close to the end. Of course, I had to reboot and…

Review of The Furnace by Tim S. Johnston

The Furnace is a book about a homicide investigator named Lieutenant Kyle Tanner. He is one of the best at what he does and can make difficult captures that others couldn’t. SOLEX One is where his next case will be. SOLEX is a power-generating station that is dangerously close to the sun. Someone on the station is a murderer who cuts the head and hands off of his victims and it’s up to Lieutenant Tanner to find out who. To Tanner’s surprise he learns that this case is different than any…

Review of FUN WITH STUFF by Bruce A. Smith

The texting generation has a term that would aptly describe this collection of hilarious humor columns: LOL. (For texting Bozos such as myself, that means: “laugh out loud”.) Seriously. This man is beyond talented! In fact, since Dave Barry retired, Bruce A. Smith could be the heir-apparent. He’s that good. And guess what? In FUN WITH STUFF, we get treated to FIFTY (count ‘em!) of his columns. I took them one at a time, savoring the special, ingeniously edgy wit. Like the best humorists, Mr.…

These are the creatures of your neighborhood

Like most boys, my youngest son developed a fascination for dinosaurs. He could name many species before he could read. At some point, I knew I would have to have dinosaurs in The Empyrical Tales. Afterall, I couldn't write a story only for my girls. I had to include things for my boys too!

With only a few days left in the giveaway on my blog, I thought I would share some background on the dinosaurs ofThe Secret Queen.

So (sing a slightly altered tune with me), these are the…

Review of Signals from the Soul by Ann Muller

“All the things I thought were wrong with my life were actually signals from my soul that there was something I needed to learn.” Intro

Ann Muller made a life changing visit to author and regression hypnotherapist, Pam Chilton. During a follow up session, she learned that her poor eyesight was a result of witnessing the crucifixion in a past life. Unbelievable, perhaps, but it was the beginning of Ann’s journey into the past.

Another regression to third century Holland, helps Ann…
